Adopt Terms of Service

By adopting a character/design from me, you agree to the following simple rules and guidelines. No one is exempt unless I personally speak with you regarding such things.
Bold font is the actual rule, unbolded font is just additional information and explanation.

     Main/General     

1. A character/design cannot be sold for more than it was bought for. The only exception to this is if it includes more art, either commissioned from others or drawn by you.
For example, if you buy a design for 30 points, do not turn and try to sell it for 50 with no art!

2. Reselling is allowed so long as Rule 1 (above) is not conflicted with.

3. Credit for the design must be given the first time it is used, so others know where it came from.

4. You may trade, gift, raffle, or giveaway any characters/designs you get from me, just be sure to tell the person where YOU got it originally.
I allow this because I've had people buy for gifts for friends and ask about this. So yes, it is allowed.

5. You do not officially own the character/design until I receive the agreed form of payment (art, points, etc.)
I will place it on hold once you state your intent to adopt, but if enough time goes by and I see no results, it will be reopened for others to have a chance! I will maintain contact with you throughout the process and before I consider reopening a design I will ask you once again. If I receive no response within a reasonable time (typically a few days) I will reopen the adopt.

     Regarding Customs     

1. You have permission to repost a custom done specifically for you, provided you credit me in some way (tagging in description, etc).

2. The custom is yours and yours alone unless/until you decide otherwise (co-owning is totally allowed if you want to go that route). As with normal adopts, it cannot be sold for more than it was bought for unless it comes with art.

     Regarding Freebie Events     

1. Free adopts/adopts I've raffled off or given away absolutely CANNOT be sold without art.
Seriously, that's just not fair to me OR the person you might try to sell to. If you specifically want to try selling a design obtained for free, let me know in some way and provide proof that you have extra art for it. From there we will work to decide a fair asking price.

2. Free adopts are typically older adopts that have sat around and will NOT include anything that's been up less than a few weeks. 
These events will be announced typically via journal and only designs in that journal will be part of the event. I keep track of which design I place in the journals, so I'll know if you're trying to be sneaky!

3. Do NOT beg. If an adopt is already closed, it's closed. It can get hectic trying to track the journal and keep individual submissions organized, so there's a chance that I might be slow to respond or take a closed one off the journal.
